Job Summary
The Recent Graduates Program affords developmental experiences in the Federal Government intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. The incumbent serves as a basic Law Enforcement Officer trainee and performs tasks related to law enforcement and investigate activities within the Forest Service programs. Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be a U.S. Citizen or National at the time of conversion to a competitive service appointment. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check. Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to a financial institution of your choosing. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. This is a drug testing designated position. You will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Appointment is based on a negative result. This announcement constitutes 30 days advance notice. This position requires initial and continuing qualifications in the use of firearms as outlined in the Gun Control Act of 1968, amended by the Lautenberg Amendment of 1996. Obtain and use a government-issued charge card for business-related travel. As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 2-year trial period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In determining if your employment advances the public interest, we may consider: your performance and conduct; the needs and interests of the agency; whether your continued employment would advance organizational goals of the agency or the Government; and whether your continued employment would advance the efficiency of the Federal service. Upon completion of your trial period your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest. Willing to live/work in remote locations (volatile/unpredictable) and are required to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirement- Position is subject to successful completion of multiple pre-employment physical efficiency battery assessments. Medical requirement- Position is subject to successful completion of pre-employment medical examination. Conditional Offer Suitability Assessment- This authorization for release of information is part of the E.O. 14074.
